Fossil Free UCSB and the Origin of O’l Derrick the Divestment Dinosaur

The Cause

Origami for an Interdependent World has joined forces with Fossil Free UCSB, whose mission is to encourage our UC Regeants to divest from fossil fuels as part of an international effort to curtail environmental degradation from burning fossil fuels, oil spills, oil processing, and oil extraction.

Derrick Meets Danny!

May 17th, 2016

While the myriad students at the University of California Santa Barbara gathered around Danny Devito at the Bernie Sanders rally, Abi and I caught his attention with our 4ft long origami Divestment Dinosaur. He was happy to speak to the students there about fossil fuel divestment and take pictures with us and our dinosaur.
